Saving the Standard for Honor
Any time a standard bearer falls (is destroyed), a marker should be placed where the bearer fell and any other model from the same troop may explicitly approach and raise the Standard with a free action.
When the standard is “raised”, the model using the free action to raise the Standard is removed from play and the Standard Bearer model is returned to the marked spot where the bearer fell.
The Standard was the rallying point for many armies throughout recorded history. In light of the need for the Standard as a rally point as well as its importance as a visual symbol for movement and direction of units within the army, the player should have the opportunity to re-raise the Standard when a Standard Bearer falls.
When used, this rule supersedes the official rule that a Standard is destroyed and cannot be replaced.
